Location is great, easy walking distance. Service at the bar/restaurant was extremely slow, wasn’t given cutlery/condiments so had to go back up and queue. Rooms was perfect for what we needed as a family of 3 with an early morning flight

Stayed at Eglinton Arms on business, a great little hotel with a lovely country feel. Rooms are very comfortable with everything you'd expect and with a nice bathroom. Staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is worth a review on its own, the food was excellent and good value. I was desperate to try the home made scotch egg. Clearly must be a popular dish as it had sold out. Would definitely come back to the Ellington Arms.

4 of us went for lunch just before Christmas. Restaurant was very busy, food was excellent as was the service. Will definitely be back. Excellent value and brilliant staff.

First class hotel, with very welcoming staff in every department. Just been at their Hogmanay party and stayed overnight, fantastic can't recommend enough, food was great quality and hot. Give it a go, even if it's just for lunch.

Attended a family wedding here. I can't speak to the rooms but the staff, the food, the service and the overall standard to which the place is kept is very high. The surroundings are nice too, even on changeable days like yesterday. There's a seated section to the side and rear that links to the large areas of parkland beyond. Tables were cleared promptly and the folk working couldn't have been nicer. If the food we got served is the same as you can drop in and buy, I'd highly recommend it for that alone. Also seems to be very dog friendly.

Fairly modern rooms with modern bathrooms. Nice atmosphere. Restaurant food was good as well, with great prices and friendly waiters! However, the rooms could be cleaner. I found hairs and mold in the bathrooms. Towels had dirt and stains on them. Even the pillows on the bed had clear stains of dirt(?). The windows won't close fully. This was a problem as delivery trucks and running engines were going on all night in the car park. All in all, the price was a bit high considering the actual state of the rooms. There is a bus station right outside the hotel, taking you to Glasgow in an hour.

Great hotel, a nice combination of modern rooms in a traditional ‘inn’. Arrived late so it took some time for someone to come to the front desk and they forgot to add in that we ordered breakfast. Minor niggles that didn’t spoil our stay. Breakfast was excellent.

Hi Carolyn I just wanted to come back to you with some feed back from our dinner on Friday night. I was also hoping you would share it with the team. I’m aware it was a small dinner but from the moment we arrived everything was seamless. Cloakroom & Bar service were first class. The organised & coordination of the table service was truly first class and each member of your team contributed to make the night a very warm, pleasurable night. Congratulations to the Kitchen team for producing a wonderful meal along with the Extra Potatoes for our Farmers. I am genuinely impressed and grateful for the high level of service and attention to detail demonstrated throughout the evening and also your care pre-event. Thank you once again.
